Mia's level 3 dismount

After just one week of gymnastics camp at the Y, Mia is capable of a level 3 dismount. I have no idea what the different levels are, but I sure do enjoy watching her perform.

This ties in so nicely with a post I read that discusses the six words a parent should say to their child .

Olivia - Budding Photographer

Olivia attended a week long photography camp that ended with a showing of her favorite photos from the week. Needless to say, I'm pretty proud of my budding photographer.

It won't be long until she is giving me the lessons.

Weekend full of birthday

This weekend Mia celebrated her ninth birthday and I'm worn out.

It started with the gift opening on Friday evening.

Mia got lots of barbie items and appeared to love them all.

Saturday morning was long and difficult, waiting for her friend Ella to arrive. But once she did, we rushed off to the pool.

The only photo from our time at the pool.

Next was dinner at Dewey's and special cupcakes for dessert.

On Sunday it was IHOP for breakfast with plans for fishing and then more pool time.

Unfortunately a storm rolled in after fishing and before we were able to make it to the pool, but the girls got some water time anyway.

Olivia takes on the role of Kelsi

Brittany Woods Middle School put on High School Musical Jr. this spring and Olivia was fortunate enough to land the role of Kelsi, the shy piano player and composer. Her natural ability to be loud and dramatic has found a home. She was quite good.

St. Louis Zoo on a Cold Spring Day

It was just Mia and me today and although it was a little cold and wet, we decided to take a quick trip to the St. Louis Zoo. Mostly we wanted to pet the stingrays, but we made our way around to see a number of animals.
